I was inspired on the way to the Saturday Saunter to blog the rides, not necessarily exclusive to Saturdays. I'll bring the camera, too (and now I've got a cell phone with one) so that adorable colts can be captured.
We had about 15 folks, mostly experienced riders, Saturday. I don't know the average speed but I expect it was between 10 and 11 mph (above Tuesday's 8.9 but we had less traffic and we took breaks on the way and on the way back, about four miles out). A small group added Sidney to the route (increasing the mileage from 17 to 22) and another group went all the way to Homer.
The cool thing was most groups were sort of getting back around the same time; the faster folks went to Villa Grove for 48 miles. I also liked that there were so many experienced folks so I didn't have to worry about things and stuff (and not having my cell phone with me).
People were pale :) It's been a long winter!
